Belfast Royal Academy is the oldest school in the city. Founded in 1785 in Academy Street, it transferred to its present North Belfast site in the nineteenth century and is now a large, co-educational, non-denominational day grammar school with strong academic, musical and sporting traditions. There are some 1410 pupils at the grammar school, with another 165 at our Preparatory Department.
