Moor Park

Moor Park is a co-educational, boarding and day school accepting children from 3 months to 13 years of age. Children often start in the Tick Tock Nursery, which provides a secure, nurturing and fun environment for our very youngest children. They transfer to the Pre-Prep Nursery and Kindergarten in the term that they turn 3. Children are then carefully prepared to start more formal schooling by a team of well-qualified and caring staff.

Moor Park is committed to broadening access to its excellent education and facilities by offering an affordable education for a wide cross-section of its local community. This is achieved by offering means-tested financial support with school day fees to eligible parents/guardians.

Scholarships and bursaries are offered to existing parents and to new pupils.  Scholarships are based on academic or other achievement and bursaries are means-tested. Some pupils may qualify for both a scholarship and a bursary.

Bursaries are generally offered where required for pupils in Year 3 upwards to assist with day fees. For current parents this is likely to be offered where there has been an unforeseen change in financial circumstances. For both internal and external applicants, the percentage offered will be dependent on financial need or other extenuating circumstances as well as the ability of the school to pay for the discount.  The school uses the services of an independent company to assist in the assessment of need and the school has a Bursary Policy to help families to decide whether they may qualify for financial assistance. Detail of the school’s policy and how to apply for a bursary is available from the school’s Registrar on head@moorpark.org.uk.

In order to be assessed, full financial disclosure to the independent company is required. The independent company draw up a financial summary report for the school’s Governors to enable them to judge eligibility and suggest the level of any award.  Bursaries are usually granted for a defined period, but may be granted with the expectation of being long term. All bursaries are subject to annual means-testing and may be varied upwards or downwards depending on parental circumstances and financial information provided on review. We ask that any bursary offer remains confidential between the parents and the school.

The school currently has two pupils in attendance on a 100% bursary. Other current bursaries vary from 10% to 60% of fees, with 28 children (22% of the Year 3 to Year 8 cohort) currently receiving some kind of means-tested bursary assistance.

External scholarships are offered on an annual basis each February/March for entry into the school in the following September. Internal scholarships follow the same timetable with any new award applying from the following September. Scholarships remain in place until the child leaves Moor Park. For more information on the scholarships process for September 2020 please contact the Registrar on head@moorpark.org.uk. The process involves the pupil attending an assessment day at school.
