The school is designed to educate the children not only academically, but also socially and morally. We encourage early independence, a curiosity for knowledge and a healthy sense of competition. The school is founded on Christian values but welcomes children of all faiths. Our pastoral system ensures that our education is an enjoyable experience.

York House is an independent school for boys and girls aged 3-13. Founded in 1910 the school has been located in our stunning location just outside Croxley Green in Hertfordshire since 1966.
At York House, everything we do aims to give your child the best possible preparation for their futures.
We recognise that academic success is paramount, and place an emphasis on high quality teaching, which along with our small class sizes, ensures that each and every child fulfills their academic potential.
However, we firmly believe that there is more to education than academic success, and that to truly prepare children for their futures we must also look to develop character and instill positive learning habits.
As we contemplate a future world for our children full of opportunities, but also plenty of uncertainties, it is these qualities, not just a strong set of exam results, that will give our pupils the best chance of success. We call this commitment to personal development ‘The York House Way.’
