Charlotte House Preparatory School

Charlotte House works closely with parents to provide a caring and supportive environment for children. In a small school, such as ours, girls develop initiative, leadership and social skills. It is our aim to encourage these qualities at every opportunity. We see girls as individuals and encourage them to achieve high academic standards in order that they may go on to the school of their choice.

Additional Information

At Charlotte House, we are very proud to have attained Dyslexia Friendly School accreditation some years ago, and pride ourselves on providing a bespoke education whatever a girl’s specific needs are. These may include dyslexia, dyscalculia or dyspraxia as well as other learning barriers which some girls face. We follow our clearly set out SEND policy and after discussion with parents and girls, we create a support plan to support each girl in the best way possible. That can mean individualised support with our highly qualified SEND staff, in one to one sessions or small groups out of the class, or support within lessons. We welcome external professionals to support where necessary. We are also members of NACE and create an education which also stimulates the highest achieving girls.

Charlotte House School is a registered charity. The school relies on the fees from parents to meet the whole of its operating costs as it does not have the benefit of an endowment fund or any other form of income.

The School offers a limited number of means-tested bursaries awarded according to need, up to a maximum of 75% for girls entering the school at age 7+. It is not likely that a bursary would be awarded to a family where relevant annual income exceeds £45,000. In the case of a divorce or separation, both parents will be required to complete financial statements. Bursaries are financed by the school.

Parents who are interested in applying for bursaries need to request a Bursary Application Form.

Once a bursary award has been made, it will be subject to an annual review.
