The earliest written reference to the School is 1179 and the School continues to educate the 40 boy and girl choristers or Exeter Cathedral. Exeter Cathedral School offers annual Awards ('ECS Awards') for pupils entering Year 7, designed to recognise and reward enthusiasm, commitment, potential, passion and talent amongst Year 6 pupils.
