The Ladies’ College is an independent single-sex non-denominational Christian day school. It is overseen by a board of governors, all of whom are appointed by the States of Guernsey (the island’s parliament). The school was founded in 1872 to provide an academic education for female pupils. It comprises a pre-preparatory department, Melrose (for pupils in years 1 to 6) and a senior school which incorporates a sixth form.
