ISC statement: The importance of vigilance around the source of payments received by schools
Julie Robinson, ISC chief executive, outlines how the sector is ensuring it is vigilant around the source of payments received by schools.
“We take this matter extremely seriously and are working with the Home Office and other agencies to ensure reporting is carried out as required under relevant laws and regulations.
“Our schools recently received updated guidance from the Independent Schools’ Bursars Association to further encourage vigilance around the source of payments. This guidance has been shared with the Home Office and verified by legal experts.
“Schools are acutely aware of their duties under existing legislation and we expect them to raise Suspicious Activity Reports if they have any concerns over the provenance of the money they are receiving.”
