ISC statement: New fund to support cross-sector school partnerships welcomed
The ISC has welcomed an announcement by schools minister Lord Agnew that a new fund is being established, which will enable state schools, independent schools and universities to bid for up £20,000 to help them build partnerships.
Responding to the news, ISC chief executive, Julie Robinson, said: “We are delighted that funding is being made available to support the development of meaningful cross-sector school partnerships.
“We know that such projects have the potential to unlock valuable new educational experiences for all involved, and independent schools are committed to their ongoing advancement and improvement. Schools do all they can to help partnerships thrive, providing resources, facilities, funding and staff time in spite of financial pressures.
“We hope this new fund will enable more schools to find a way to put plans into practice for the benefit of even more pupils and teachers.”
