ISC chairman awarded a CBE for services to education
Barnaby Lenon, chairman of the Independent Schools Council and chair of governors at the London Academy of Excellence, has been awarded a CBE in the Queen's birthday honours list for services to education.
Mr Lenon said: “I see this award as recognition of the great work done by the staff of the Independent Schools Council, helping to raise awareness of the important role the sector plays in our country’s diverse education system - such as through meaningful partnership initiatives with state schools.
“In addition, it reflects the achievements of the staff and supporters of the London Academy of Excellence in Newham, which in such a short time has become one of the most successful state schools in England.”
